Social? • Clear gaps in the literature must be identified and named, e.g. theoretical, empirical knowledge, population, gaps? • Specific theoretical and managerial contributions of the study should also be highlighted • Author(s) need to clarify the importance of the Iranian restaurant industry to the overall global context to better contextualise the study and its findings. • Distinct research questions must be developed and presented in the introduction to assist in structuring the study, especially later in the discussion and conclusions Literature • A distinct theoretical framework section needs to be included as the first section of the literature review to ground the discussion and operationalisation of the hypotheses. Author(s) mention the adoption of Carroll's (2016) pyramid model of CSR? • There appears to be an overreliance on the author Omidvar; this reference needs to be substituted or at least supported by other authors. • Date references such as (Schubert et al., 2010) need to be supported with more recent resources • It is also recommended that more than one source be used to support the author's opinions and discussions. As single sources are cited throughout the manuscript. Author(s) need to engage with more literature. Reviewer2 Introduction The introduction provides a strong starting point for the manuscript. The author clearly introduces the research problem, effectively establishing the relevance and importance of the topic. This is a key strength, as it immediately engages the reader and provides a solid foundation for the rest of the paper. The discussion of CSR and its relevance within the restaurant industry is generally well-articulated, and the motivation for the study is evident. The author also does a good job of signaling the broader context in which the study is situated. However, there are a few areas where the introduction can be strengthened: • While the problem is well introduced, the research gap could be articulated more explicitly and sharply. It would be beneficial to clearly distinguish what is already known from prior literature and what remains underexplored—particularly in relation to CSR dimensions and the developing country context. Literature Review Overall, the literature review is well-developed and demonstrates a solid understanding of the relevant academic foundations. The author integrates prior studies effectively, and the discussion provides sufficient background to support the proposed model. This section reflects good engagement with existing research and contributes to the overall coherence of the manuscript. However, one key area that requires further development is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which is the central construct of the study. Given that CSR is effectively the “star” of the article, it warrants a more comprehensive and in-depth treatment. Specifically: • The author should provide a clear and well-established definition of CSR, supported by seminal and recent sources.
